We're looking for women over 60. Yes, you.

Here is something that has irritated Melissa for twenty years.

Fashion brands photograph clothes for older women on models in their thirties. So you look at the picture, and you look at yourself, and you have absolutely no idea how that shirt is going to sit on your shoulders, over your chest, on your arms.

We’d like to fix that. So we’re after real women, over 60, in real bodies, wearing our clothes as they actually look.

What we’re actually asking for

Nothing complicated:

  • Photos of you in the pieces. Taken by your daughter, your neighbour, or on a timer against the back fence. Phone photos are perfectly fine — we’re not after a studio shoot.
  • An honest sentence or two about how it fits and feels. If a sleeve’s too tight, say so. That’s the entire point.
  • Permission for us to use those photos on the website, in emails and on social media.

That’s it. You don’t need to be on Instagram. You don’t need followers. You don’t need to be photogenic, whatever that’s supposed to mean.

What you get

  • Pieces to keep, sent free, in your size and chosen with you rather than at you
  • A personal discount code for anything else you’d like, on top of clearance prices
  • A commission on sales through your code, if you share it around
  • First look at new stock before it goes on the site
  • Your name and your words on the site, if you’d like them there. Some women prefer just the photo. That’s fine too.

Who we’re after

  • Women 60 and over — though if you’re 55 and keen, write to us anyway
  • Any size, 10 through 24. We especially want women at both ends of that range, because those are the sizes hardest to picture from a stock photo.
  • Living in Australia, so we can post to you
  • Willing to be honest, including when the honest answer is “this one didn’t work”

We are not looking for polish. We’re looking for the truth about how clothes fit a body that has lived in the world for six or seven decades.

How to apply

Email contact@perthboutique.shop with “Ambassador” in the subject line, and tell us:

  1. Your name and where in Australia you are
  2. Your age and the size you usually wear
  3. A photo or two of yourself — an ordinary snap is perfect, no need for anything staged
  4. A few lines about what you like wearing, and what you’ve never been able to find

Melissa reads every one of these herself. You’ll hear back within a week either way, because being left hanging is rude.
