Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Perth Boutique (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

If anything here isn’t clear, email us at contact@perthboutique.shop and we’ll explain it in plain terms.

1. What we collect

When you buy something: your name, email address, postal and billing address, phone number if you give one, and the details of what you ordered.

When you pay: your payment is processed by our payment providers. We do not collect or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. We receive only confirmation of payment and the last four digits of the card for reference.

When you contact us: your name, email and whatever you tell us in your message.

When you sign up to emails: your name and email address.

Automatically, when you browse: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you look at, how long you stay and which site you came from. This comes through cookies and similar technologies.

If you apply to be an ambassador: the details and photos you send us.

2. Why we collect it

  • To process your order, take payment and get it delivered to you
  • To send you order confirmations, tracking and delivery updates
  • To handle returns, refunds and warranty claims
  • To answer your questions
  • To send you marketing emails, if you’ve opted in
  • To improve the website and understand what people are looking for
  • To detect and prevent fraud
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations

3. Marketing emails

We only send marketing to people who’ve opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. You’ll still get transactional emails about orders you’ve placed, because you need those.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it’s necessary to run the business:

  • Payment providers (Visa/Mastercard/Amex processing, PayPal, Afterpay, Zip) to take payment and issue refunds
  • Our e-commerce platform and hosting provider, which stores the site and order data
  • Shipping carriers and our warehouses, so your parcel can be delivered or your return received
  • Email and marketing tools, to send order updates and newsletters
  • Analytics providers, to understand website traffic
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountant, where required
  • Government agencies or law enforcement, where the law requires it

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of the providers above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, the European Union and Asia. Our returns are also processed through an overseas warehouse in many cases, which means your name and return address may be disclosed to that facility so your parcel can be received and matched to your order.

Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it’s handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. By placing an order or returning an item, you consent to this disclosure.

6. Cookies

Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use:

  • Essential cookies — keep your cart working and you logged in. The site won’t function without these.
  • Analytics cookies — tell us anonymously how the site is being used.
  • Marketing cookies — let us show relevant ads and measure whether they worked.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will break your cart and checkout.

7. How we keep it safe

Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it. Our payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS compliant providers.

No system is perfectly secure and we can’t guarantee absolute security, but if there’s a data breach likely to cause serious harm we’ll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

8. How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for seven years to meet Australian tax and record-keeping requirements. Marketing subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept as long as they’re useful for resolving your enquiry.

9. Your rights

You can:

  • Ask what we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything wrong or out of date
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we’re not legally required to keep it
  • Unsubscribe from marketing at any time
  • Complain if you think we’ve mishandled your information

Email contact@perthboutique.shop and we’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are first, which protects you.

10. Complaints

Write to us first at contact@perthboutique.shop and we’ll try to sort it out. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.

11. Children

This site isn’t aimed at people under 18 and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please tell us and we’ll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always sits on this page with the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
