How to pay

All prices on this site are in Australian dollars and include GST. Shipping is free, so the total at checkout is the total — no surprises on the last screen.

Here’s every way you can pay, and how each one actually works. We’ve written these out properly because “buy now, pay later” is newer than some of us, and nobody should be clicking a button they don’t understand.

Credit and debit cards

Visa · Mastercard · American Express

The straightforward one. You enter your card details at checkout and the amount comes out of your account, same as it would at a shop counter.

  • Your card is charged when you place the order, not when it ships.
  • Your bank may send you a text or app notification asking you to confirm it’s really you. That’s a security check called 3D Secure, and it’s a good sign, not a problem. Approve it and your order goes through.
  • We never see or store your full card number. It goes straight to our payment processor over an encrypted connection.
  • Debit cards from Australian banks work exactly the same way as credit cards here.
  • If your card is declined, it’s almost always the bank rather than us — usually a daily limit or a fraud flag on an unfamiliar online store. A quick call to your bank normally clears it.

PayPal

If you have a PayPal account, choose PayPal at checkout and you’ll be taken to PayPal’s own page to log in and approve the payment, then brought back here.

  • Your card or bank details stay with PayPal. We never see them at all.
  • PayPal pays us, and takes it from whichever card or bank account you’ve linked.
  • You can also pay with a PayPal balance if you have one.
  • Refunds go back into your PayPal account, and PayPal passes them on to your linked card or bank.
  • PayPal has its own buyer protection, which is separate from our guarantee and worth reading on their site.

Afterpay

Four payments, a fortnight apart, no interest.

Afterpay splits your order into four equal instalments.

  • You pay the first quarter at checkout. The other three come out automatically every two weeks.
  • No interest, ever. A $200 order is four payments of $50 — you pay $200 in total.
  • Your order is posted straight away. You don’t wait until it’s paid off.
  • Late fees apply if a scheduled payment fails, so make sure there’s money in the account on the day. Afterpay caps these, and their current fees are on their website.
  • You need to be 18 or over, live in Australia, and have an eligible Australian debit or credit card.
  • First time using it? You set up the account during checkout. It takes a couple of minutes and Afterpay decides on the spot.
  • Refunds: we refund Afterpay, and Afterpay adjusts your payment plan. If you’ve already paid more than the refund is worth, they put the difference back on your card. Anything still owing is cancelled or reduced.

Afterpay is a credit arrangement with Afterpay, not with us. Their terms are on their website and we’d encourage you to have a look.

Zip (Zip Pay)

An account you draw on, with repayments you set.

Zip works differently to Afterpay. Instead of a fixed four instalments, Zip gives you an approved spending limit — often up to $1,000 to start — and you repay it weekly, fortnightly or monthly, whichever suits your pay cycle.

  • No interest.
  • Zip charges a monthly account fee (currently $9.95), which is waived in any month you pay your balance off in full. If you clear the balance, you pay nothing extra.
  • You need to be 18 or over and an Australian resident, and Zip runs a quick approval when you sign up.
  • Your order is posted straight away, same as any other payment method.
  • Refunds go back onto your Zip account as credit against your balance.

Zip is a credit arrangement with Zip, not with us. Their fees and terms are on their website.

Digital wallets

Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported if you’re on a phone or tablet with a card set up. You confirm with your face, fingerprint or passcode and that’s the whole checkout. The money comes from the card in your wallet, exactly like using a card directly.

Is it safe to put my card in?

Yes, and here’s why rather than just “yes”:

  • Every page on this site runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection — that’s the padlock in your browser’s address bar.
  • Card details go directly to the payment processor, not into our system. We couldn’t look up your card number if we wanted to.
  • We don’t store card numbers, expiry dates or security codes anywhere.
  • We’ll never ring you or email you asking for your card details. If anyone claiming to be us does, it isn’t us — please tell us about it.

A few practical things

  • Something charged twice? Occasionally a declined attempt shows as a pending amount on your statement. It usually clears itself within 3–5 business days. If it hasn’t, email us with your order number and we’ll look into it.
  • Discount codes and gift cards go in the box at checkout before you pay. Gift cards can be combined with clearance prices — see Gift Cards.
  • We can’t take payment over the phone or by direct bank transfer. Everything goes through checkout, which is what keeps it secure for you.

Still not sure which to use? Ask us — no question is a silly one.
